REGISTRATION Player / Parent Info

These are the expectations of Players and Parents when participating in Eastview:EXPECTATIONS OF PLAYER:
1. Attend all practices & games, be on time. Practice skills at home
2. Notify the coach when absent or late, as far in advance as possible. Be considerate and let coaches know of absences from practices or games.
3. Focus & work hard at all practices & games
4. Respect yourself, your teammates, coach, referees & opponents. Good sportsmanship is expected.
5. Players will be asked to leave a practice or game if they disrupt practices by being late or disrespectful to coaches or other players. This can also lead to suspension from playing.
6. Be open & honest with the coach & feel free to ask questions and raise any issues.
7. Players in other sports & activities must decide & let the coach know, where their priorities lie in case of scheduling conflicts. Basketball is a team sport therefore we learn team plays and drills which may fall apart if you are missing from either practice or game.
8. Players are not allowed to wear watches, rings, earrings or other jewelry during games or practices. Taping over earrings is allowed. Shorts must not have pockets. It is preferred Undershirts be the same colour as your teammates, either white or black. Fingernails must be trimmed
9. Our practice gyms are crucial to the continuation of Eastview Basketball. You are not allowed anywhere other than the gym, washrooms, or access areas. Keep gyms clean. Players will be suspended from playing for any infraction reported.
EXPECTATIONS OF PARENTS/GUARDIANS:
1. Eastview requires that all players be brought into the gym by parents before the practice or game and that parents come into the gym to collect players afterward. This is to ensure that the coach is there and the facility is open, as well as ensuring safety. Picking your child up on time is necessary, as we require our coaches to stay until all children under their supervision are collected.
2. Get players to practices and games on time, support the team with enthusiasm & your time, and learn the Rules of the Game.
3. Each game requires the team to provide a scorekeeper or timekeeper. Please assist the team manager / coach in filling this role during the season.
4. Provide positive support for all players, coaches and. officials. Players learn by our example - good sportsmanship is key.
5. Be open & honest with the coach or the Executive, and raise any issues as soon as possible. Players who have medical conditions should communicate these to the coach
6. Verbal abuse of Officials, Coaches, Players will be subject to review of the Executive and suspension from entering Eastview facilities can be applied
