EASTVIEW RULES OF PLAY 2017-18

Eastview play is governed by the current FIBA Official Basketball Rules with the following modifications:

1. Volunteers: Teams must provide a volunteer(s) to be score keeper or time keeper for each game.

2. Forfeits: Teams must start a game with the required number of eligible players; teams unable to field  these players for the start of a game will forfeit the game and the score will be recorded as a 0-20 loss.

3. Player Playing Time: Coaches are responsible for playing all players for a “fair” amount of time per game during the regular season.

4. Spectator behavior:  During the game spectator behavior is the responsibility of the head coach. A referee can assess a “Technical foul” against the coach for Spectators who verbally or physically interferes with the game. Referees have the option of requesting a coach to ask the spectator to leave the gym if the disruptive behavior by the spectator continues.  Spectators who refuse to leave the gym when requested will result in a technical foul charged to the coach and play will be suspended until the spectator leaves. The game will be forfeited by the team to which that spectator belongs if they do not leave the gym.
